Indulge in the irresistible taste of Guokui, originating from Jingzhou over a thousand years ago. Countless generations have been captivated by its mouth-watering flavour. Legend has it that during Liu Bei’s occupation of Jingzhou, his army, led by Zhang Fei, found their rations hard and tasteless. Zhang Fei then instructed his soldiers to mix the rations with water, knead them into the dough, add a variety of seasonings, and press the dough onto the inside of a hot steel helmet, resulting in a dish that was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.
